Happy Thanksgiving!
Today we are thankful. Thankful for a warm, inviting home. Thankful for healthy, happy children. Thankful for delicious, lovingly prepared food. Thankful for immediate family, extended family, and our chosen family of friends. Thankful for the rain in the Aptos mountains, filling the stream behind our house and watering the apple trees. Thankful for the first snow falling at Happy Cabin, where our guests sent a picture of the backyard blanketed in fresh powder. Thankful for four generations wrangled together for a family photo on a cousin’s staircase, making silly faces for the serious picture and serious faces for the silly picture. Thankful for pictures of our friends with their families, posted on Facebook and sent in texts and emails from all over the world. Thankful for finding a moment in this busy day for gratitude.
